1: Start by frying your onion in a pan. In a separate saucepan, cook 3/4 cup of basmati rice in 1 cup of water so it can cook halfway. 2: Clean your onions. Make a slit going from one side to the middle of the onion. In a medium-sized pot, immerse them in water. Boil for about 20-30 minutes, or until they become soft. Drain and let them cool. 3: Mix together your meat mixture. 4: Fill onions: carefully separate each layer of the onions, making sure not to tear the layers. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the meat mixture inside the onion and roll to close. 5: Place all the stuffed onions in an oven-safe baking dish. Whisk together the sauce and pour all over the onions. Add 1/2 cup of water. 6: Cover the dish and cook at 350°F for about 1.5 hours, then an extra 20 minutes uncovered.
