1: Slice your onions in thin strips. 2: In a large non-stick pan, saute onions in oil on medium heat until soft. 3: While the onions saute, wash the beef cubes and dry using a paper towel to absorb remaining water. 4: Push the onions to the side of the pan and add the beef cubes. Brown all sides of the meat, then incorporate it with the onions. 5: Add silan, miso, and salt. Add 1/2 cup of water and cover the pan, leaving only a little opening. 6: Reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 2 hours, or until fork tender.
