Dafina is a slow-cooked dish traditionally prepared in a crockpot with a variety of flavorful ingredients. It includes soft wheat, spices, parboiled rice, vegetables, eggs, and meat, creating a lovely blend of textures and tastes that can simmer for almost 24 hours. The method allows for adjustments in flavors while maintaining the essential cooking technique.

1: Start by pouring 1/2 cup oil, diced onion, and chickpeas at the bottom of your crockpot. Place 2 oven safe bags ready to fill. 2: For both bags: combine all ingredients from the wheat in one and the rice in the other one. Tie bags tightly. 3: Add cheek meat in between both bags. You can use it straight from the freezer without a problem. 4: Add cubed potatoes and eggs on top of everything. Sprinkle paprika, cumin, salt, 1/4 cup oil, and silan. Optionally, add honey or sugar instead of silan. 5: Fill up with water until the top. 6: Cover and cook on LOW for the entire time. Plug it in around 2-3 pm on Friday and let it cook until the next day lunch, for almost 24 hours. 7: To serve, cut open the bags and pour into bowls. Mash the sweet potato in the wheat for texture and sweetness. Peel the eggs and place them in a dish along with meat, potatoes, and chickpeas. Pour some remaining sauce on top.
