This beautiful and delicious chestnut chicken is a perfect dish to serve on Shabbat or holidays, featuring chicken drumsticks cooked to perfection with a rich combination of flavors.

1: Start by heating up a large braiser over medium high heat. Add oil. Sear drumsticks on all sides to create a brown crust. Remove and set aside. 2: Add onions to your hot braiser. Caramelize them over medium low heat until golden and soft. Add wine and deglaze the pan. Mix in silan and chestnuts so they can be coated in the flavors. 3: Return drumsticks back to the braiser and place them in a single layer with the sauce/onions covering them. Sprinkle salt, pepper and onion salt. Pour in water. 4: Cover and cook on low for about an hour. Then uncover and continue simmering for another hour.
