Apple Turnover for a Crowd

A crowd-friendly apple turnover recipe made with Macintosh apples, puff pastry, and topped with cinnamon sugar and sliced almonds. Perfect for Rosh Hashana and can be served warm with ice cream.

Instructions
1: Preheat oven to 350F. 2: Combine diced apples, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce to a medium simmer. 3: Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 rectangles. Place 2 on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 4: Line apples in an overlapping line through the rectangle. 5: Once the apples are soft and mashed, place them on top of the lined apples. 6: Cover with the other two rectangles of puff pastry. Secure sides using a fork and score the top to let some air out. 7: Brush egg on top, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and sliced almonds. 8: Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown on top. 9: To serve, reheat, cut into triangles, and top with cold ice cream.View original recipe
