What you need

cup brown sugar

Instructions
1: Start by rubbing kosher salt and pepper on both sides of the brisket. 2: In a non-stick skillet, add oil and then sear the brisket on both sides. 3: Remove the brisket from the skillet and place it in a crockpot. 4: In the same skillet, fry the onions on medium heat until light brown. 5: Add the rest of the ingredients (brown sugar, ketchup, wine, balsamic vinegar, and water) into the skillet and mix until combined. 6: Pour the sauce over the brisket in the crockpot. 7: Turn the crockpot on low and cook for 7 hours. 8: Prepare a small metal pan. Remove the brisket and place it on the pan. 9: With 2 forks, gently shred the beef completely and return it to the crockpot. 10: Mix in the sauce and cook for an additional 45 minutes.View original recipe
