A universal Moroccan grandmother’s treat, Mémé’s Nut Cake is a delightful dessert with a blend of eggs, sugar, orange juice, and ground walnuts, topped with walnuts and powdered sugar. This cake offers a perfect balance of flavors without being overly sweet.

What you need

tsp baking soda

powdered sugar

cup flour

cup orange juice
cup oil
Instructions
1: Preheat oven to 350°F. 2: In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat egg whites with sugar at high speed until white and creamy. Set aside in another bowl. 3: Beat egg yolks until paler yellow, then add orange juice and oil and beat until incorporated. 4: Using a mini food processor, ground your nuts. Add to the mixer along with flour and baking soda. Beat until fully incorporated. 5: Very slowly and patiently, fold in your egg whites into the thick batter. 6: Spray a spring form pan with nonstick spray. Pour the batter into it. Top with walnuts, or incorporate pieces of nuts in the batter. 7: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. 8: Once cool, top with powdered sugar.View original recipe
